The other day I received a package. It was sent in the mail. It was big and contained ten glass bowls. I order the same item every year to present to our volunteers who are rotating off our board.
I grabbed the scissors and just as I started to break the tape to check the contents, I paused and thought, ” please don’t be full of packing peanuts”. Thankfully I was greeted by crumpled packing paper and bubble wrap. With a sigh of relief, I thought, “Whew, thanks, guys! You made my day!” Then I removed the first box on the bottom row and there, clinging to my fingers, the side of the packing box, and the side of the gift box was the packing peanuts (if this was a movie I’d input the “Jaws” theme song here).
I spent ten minutes verifying that the engravings were correct and thirty minutes cleaning up the packing popcorn.
